100th Post!

Since this is my 100th post, I wish I could make it count.
But unfortunately, any exciting news I may or may not have has to wait.
heh heh heh.
No, the Man hasn't been accepted to Dental School yet. Boo.
Still waiting for my next rejection letter. Hm.

So instead of mind-blowing, reality-altering, life-changing stuff, here's the 100th reason I am a nerd:

I went to Fry's this morning in an old tee shirt and some yoga pants my mom gave me *THANKS, Mum!* that I have been living in for the last few weeks. My hair was styled in the exact same messy monstrosity I had wound it into last night after washing my hair. Hadn't touched it. Ha. What a sight I was.
Anyway, I'll get to the point.
I was at the store and the song MMMBop! by Hansen came on. And I liked it. A lot! Who'd've thought?
Chains of Love by Erasure came on later. I thought I had the best luck for grocery store music in the whole wide freaking world.

OMGosh!

Disneyland Inquirer
Disney Princesses Caught without Makeup!

An exclusive peek into a little-seen world of Disney Royalty has brought to light a shocking truth about the belovedly sweet and notoriously beautiful Disney Princesses. On the page, on the screen, even on the stage, we have been charmed by these lovelies and have waited in line for egregious amounts of time to meet them. But what happens when the cameras turn off?

We find that they are not so very different from you and me. It would appear that not even the models of perfection rendered by the paint brushes and imaginations of Disney animators are able to escape the shuddering reality of an unembellished face.

Ah, Belle. The graceful. The Beauty.
But is she the beauty?

Or the BEAST?

Cinderella. Oh, the sweetheart who wears glass slippers and sings with birds and mice.
A gem among her ugly stepsisters?

Or a sleepy-looking housemaid who scored some mascara from her fairy-godmother?

Hail to the Princess Aurora. She was given the gift of beauty as a baby.

D'you think maybe she grew out of it?

And Snow White. The perfect picture of innocence and natural prettiness... born with red lips? How did she get so lucky?

Uh, she didn't.
Can we say holy eyebrows?

It would appear that Jasmine, Ariel, Mulan, Pocahontas, the chick from Princess and the Frog, and Tinkerbell all escaped my sharp-shooting camera. But keep your eyes peeled. I bet you'll see one of them swiping on an emergency coat of lipstick or spending thousands on a secret Avon lady.

Talk about appreciation

Only a dentist would receive an item handed to him by his assistant, then
thank the patient.

I am...

so tired I could trip over my shadow,
mad at my boss for talking,
annoyed at everyone else,
ready to scarf down as much chocolate as my purple-lacquered talons can grab,
a little sore in the bosom,
grumpy,
starving,
moody,

and
crampy.

Wanna know why they call it PMS?
Cuz "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken.

Ten things I love about Mom

10. Our walks. We go walking together once a week and it's something I always look forward to.
 9. Seeing her be such an amazing Grandma. I can't wait until I can give her some more grand kiddos!
 8. The way she always has to have a camera for stuff and how she gets frustrated when she forgets it. *giggle* Mom, you're so cute.
 7. All her little hobbies she gets into. I love seeing her be able to branch out and do more things she enjoys now that us kids are grown up.
 6. Her green shakes. Especially the pina colada one. Mmmmm!
 5. Her intuition. Seriously, it's almost creepy. But very cool.
 4. Her dedication to learning the Spanish language. It's amazing to hear her communicate with the Hermanas she works with in the Spanish Branch.
 3. Her perseverance. Raising 7 kids is certainly no picnic.
 2. Her hands. Whether it's cutting up a canteloupe for dinner or putting together a prom dress, the way her hands move is so gentle, calculated, and just elegant.
1. Her unshakable faith. All my life, she has been a rock. I see her study the scriptures, I hear her pray for us, I see her attend the temple...through thick and thin, always, she has been an incredible example to me.

Happy Mother's Day, Mama. You are beautiful. Thank you for making us. (I guess I should thank Dad too, since he was part of it, but that's for the Father's Day blog post. he he he)
Our family is the BEST!

I was born.
YIPES!!!!!! I'M ALMOST 30!!!!

Last night the Man and I went to eat with some friends at Benihana cuz one of his buddies had a birthday yesterday. They were very sweet and sang happy birthday to me too (once in English, once in Japanese. Very cool!)
HIGHLY recommend this place, btw. Yummy food and super cool entertainment. They cook the food right in front of you. Pricey, but TOTALLY worth it. Oh, and spend the extra three bucks and get the fried rice. Once I watched him cook it, I wished we had ordered it.

I've had some people ask what I want for my birthday. Well, if you really want to know? Here's my deep-down list:

~I want the Man to get accepted to dental school. Enough waiting, already!
~I want some babies to hurry up and come to us! I think they like it in heaven so much they don't want to leave! Uh, one at a time though, please. :)
~I want a totally sweet literary agent to BEG me to be their client.
And I wouldn't say no to an all-expense-paid-vacation. Then again, who would?

Today I turn 28. And even though it's doubtful my deep-down birthday wishes will come true on this day, maybe not today, but someday I know they will :) today will be good.
No, it'll be great.

I love making me laugh.

Funny stuff at the office today. My boss and I argue ALL the time to the point that people say we sound like a crotchety old married couple. I think it's because I'm stubborn and opinionated and he really likes to argue. Add that to having worked for the dude for 7 years (in a month from today) and it's pretty much a recipe for some hilarious dialogue.

Here's what we talked about today. I edited some of the intermingled conversation, dental jargon, and a few pauses to add comic emphasis.

Me: "You know, if you call me young lady, I therefore have license to call you old man."
Dr. T: "How about calling me" *pauses to think* "Your Supreme Excellency."
Me: *trying not to gag on the holy pompous caught in my throat* "I'll call you Your Supreme Excellency when you call me Your Royal Highness, the Princess of Everything."
Other assistant in the office who walked by: "I'll call both of you a Royal Pain in the Neck."

Cue uproarious laughter.

Good times.

Our troops getting their groove on

I'm so glad to see our boys in the Middle East having some fun. This video is hilarious! It's a remake of Lady Gaga and Beyonce's music video of the song Telephone.
I had to share it. Couldn't help myself.

Hooray for our troops! We love you guys and appreciate all you do!!
